Editorial Authority
This page explains how SYNTA defines, constrains, and exercises editorial authority.
Source of Authority
SYNTA’s authority does not derive from institutions, credentials, scale, or affiliation. It derives from disciplined analysis, transparency of method, and consistency over time.
Scope of Authority
SYNTA claims authority only over its own published work — not over events, actors, or outcomes. Its role is interpretive, not directive.
Limits
SYNTA does not claim neutrality, omniscience, or predictive certainty. Where confidence exists, it is earned structurally. Where it does not, uncertainty is stated explicitly.
Revocability
Editorial authority is not permanent. It is continuously contingent on accuracy, restraint, and intellectual honesty. Failure in these areas weakens authority by design.
